Case Study: Gilmore Group delivers a full VLJ cabin mock-up in under nine months with Dassault Systèmes' CATIA

A Dassault Systemes Case Study

Preview of the Gilmore Group Case Study

Builds brands with CATIA

Gilmore Group, a New York–based experiential design firm, was tasked with translating a VLJ manufacturer's brand into a fully functional cabin mock‑up on a tight schedule—less than nine months—and needed advanced surfacing to model complex, compound geometries. To meet this challenge Gilmore Group chose CATIA from Dassault Systemes (part of its PLM solution suite) for its superior surface modeling and parametric design capabilities.

Dassault Systemes delivered CATIA plus reseller-supported training that let Gilmore rapidly iterate designs, produce photorealistic renderings, and generate machinable surfaces for fabrication, enabling the complete trade‑show cabin in under nine months. The faster, parametric workflows reduced physical prototyping and accelerated time to market; the VLJ customer reportedly received more than 100 orders in the first month, and Gilmore has since expanded CATIA use into packaging and other projects for ongoing efficiency gains.
