Aerosud - Customer Case Study

Aerosud, a South African aerospace company supplying design and manufacturing services (including seats, galleys and complex assemblies), faced rapid international growth and the need to join the Airbus A400 supply chain while managing increasingly complex design-to-manufacture workflows. To meet these challenges they adopted Dassault Systemes PLM technology—including ENOVIA SmarTeam and digital mock-up (DMU) capabilities—to handle configuration management, version control, part reuse and integration of 3D design data with production.

Dassault Systemes delivered a PLM-driven solution that enabled collaborative engineering, BOM integration with ERP, direct manufacture from 3D data and a central parts library. The result was measurable: Aerosud says it grew fivefold in five years, achieved considerable savings in stock holding, shortened delivery times, cut costs through BOM rationalisation and part reuse, and rolled out enterprise-wide productivity improvements across its ~600-employee group (with 18 PLM seats and 20–30 PLM operators).
