Plasan Carbon Composites, a supplier of carbon composite body and structural parts to automotive OEMs, needed to deliver fast, accurate quotes and high‑quality parts while reducing costly trial‑and‑error, material waste and translation errors between multiple CAD systems. To address this, Plasan implemented a Dassault Systèmes composites solution suite that includes CATIA Composites Design, Simulayt fiber modeling and linking, and SIMULIA Abaqus FEA.

Using Dassault Systèmes’ integrated tools, Plasan shifted to right‑first‑time virtual ply design and realistic structural simulation, cutting first‑level quoting from half a day to about 30 minutes, reducing iterations by ~50% (two vs three–five), shortening FEA setup from days to hours, and enabling an Out‑of‑Autoclave process that cut curing times by 75%. The outcome was faster, more competitive quotes, fewer plies and less waste, improved manufacturability and validated part performance.
