Achieving optimum control with Dymola from Dassault Systèmes

Solvina, a Swedish technical consulting company specializing in energy system design, system integration and control engineering, needed efficient control strategies to maximize power-plant output while minimizing energy consumption. To tackle these complex control problems, Solvina uses Dymola from Dassault Systemes to model and dynamically simulate controllers before any physical modifications or installations.

Using Dymola from Dassault Systemes, Solvina implemented reusable, model-based simulators to test and optimize control algorithms, speed verification, and train operators. For a pulp mill customer, this approach delivered power savings of 20 MWh/day and roughly €500k annually; more broadly, Dymola enabled faster development, safer operator training (SolvSim), and confidence that virtual-tested controllers will perform in the physical plant.
