Danatec, a Swedish design engineering consultancy serving the engineering, mining and process industries, faced the challenge of delivering “first-time-right” workable solutions for clients often under fixed-price contracts. To meet this need it deployed Dassault Systemes’ DELMIA PLM Express within its existing DS PLM environment to better simulate production lines, robot operations and welding processes before physical implementation.

By using DELMIA PLM Express from Dassault Systemes to build complete virtual factories and simulate equipment, Danatec avoided costly rework, identified issues such as gantry collisions and robot reachability early, and delivered solutions that work on first use. The firm reports improving from ~90% of a project being correct first time to effectively 100%, faster feasibility and costing for clients, and a clear reduction in on-site fixes.
