LXRA Public Consultation for Level Crossing Removals

The Level Crossing Removal Project, a $6 billion Victorian initiative to remove 50 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings, faced the challenge of managing large-scale, sensitive public consultation across multiple channels, contractors and community touchpoints. To coordinate and standardize engagement, the Level Crossing Removal Project engaged Darzin Software in 2015 to deploy the Darzin consultation manager platform.

Darzin Software implemented a central stakeholder engagement management system that captured workshops, information sessions, surveys, hotline enquiries, complaints and online feedback, and provided training for LXRA staff, contractor teams and the Salmat 24/7 contact centre. The Darzin platform enabled LXRA to register and manage grievances, monitor issues and trends, report across eight contractor work packages and maintain consistent data standards — tracking thousands of interactions (for example, 103 workshops and 2,207 residents reached) and improving transparency, accountability and responsiveness across the program.
