Ergon Energy Managing Consultation across Regions & Teams

Ergon Energy, the regional Queensland electricity retailer, faced the challenge of managing public consultation across multiple regions and many project teams during a $5.6 billion capital works program (2011–2016). To coordinate stakeholder engagement for development projects across Northern, Central and Southern QLD—including cities and isolated communities—Ergon Energy implemented Darzin Software in 2011 as its stakeholder engagement platform.

Darzin Software delivered a central engagement system that consolidated up-to-date stakeholder contacts, captured communications from online and offline channels, enabled real-time access and sharing across project teams and consultants, and produced reliable cross-project reports. As a result, Ergon Energy achieved consistent, centrally stored engagement data, streamlined consultation and information sharing across regions, and improved ability to evaluate community feedback and finalize route decisions with accurate stakeholder reporting.
