Community Consultation for Australia’s Largest Road Project

EastLink, a $2.5 billion, ~39–40 km toll road project in Victoria delivered by Thiess John Holland, faced significant community consultation challenges because of its size and high engagement standards. To manage stakeholder communications efficiently and securely across multiple site offices, the EastLink communications team implemented Darzin Software’s Darzin software running on their Citrix server.

Darzin Software provided a centrally accessible, secure consultation platform that let staff log in from any site office and enter or retrieve data in real time. Using Darzin Software, community feedback was captured and acted on, producing design enhancements, relocation of noise walls to address proximity and security concerns, and support for the project’s large public art program; EastLink was completed five months ahead of schedule.
