Valassis, the nation’s leading marketing services company, needed to upgrade and streamline its premedia production after acquiring ADVO and to automate a high-volume workflow that serves thousands of advertisers. To meet this challenge, Valassis selected DALIM SOFTWARE and its DALiM MiSTRAL solution to replace manual steps, integrate with its custom MIS, and support JDF-driven automation across multiple print sites.

DALIM SOFTWARE implemented three complete DALiM MiSTRAL systems — a central system in Livonia, Michigan, and two satellite systems in Durham, NC and Wichita, KS — with The Oldham Group managing installation and services and a high-speed OC12 (622 Mbps) link between sites. Integration via JDF and dynamic WAN delivery enabled automated hand-offs, local imposition and plate-making, and planned use of DALiM DiALOGUE for soft-proofing; the deployment streamlined premedia, supported the weekly ShopWise Wrap, and scaled to serve 15,000 advertisers reaching up to 114 million mailboxes (90% of U.S. households), the largest DALIM SOFTWARE order in North America.
