Quantum Enhances PDF Processing with DALIM DRIVE

Quantum Color Graphics is a high-volume digital and conventional offset printer in Morton Grove, Illinois, producing millions of pages each month under tight 48–72 hour SLAs. The company needed a better way to handle a constant stream of problematic customer-provided PDF files that often caused RIP failures, slowdowns, and prepress risks. To address this, Quantum turned to DALIM SOFTWARE and its DALIM DRIVE/Fusion environment for high-throughput preflight and file processing.

With DALIM SOFTWARE, Quantum implemented real-time and near-real-time preflight, client-specific normalization, quarantine workflows, and parallel microservices-based processing. The results were significant: more than 10 PDF files per second processed, millions of monthly pages handled with fewer than 10 rejections, fewer RIP crashes, and much stronger SLA protection. Quantum said the system made them four times faster, dramatically reduced problematic files, and improved flexibility across their production workflow.
