Allied Printing Services, a third-generation family-owned commercial and financial printer founded in 1949 and now among the top 50 U.S. printers, faced critical prepress and RIP performance limits as file complexity and turnaround demands grew. To overcome long processing times (files and bitmaps could take 20 minutes to an hour) and to scale with modern 64-bit hardware, Allied partnered with DALIM SOFTWARE and adopted their DALIM TWIST workflow.

DALIM SOFTWARE implemented DALIM TWIST on high-performance SGI/Cray-based servers with customizable icon-based scripts, redundant enterprise servers, and advanced networking and storage; the result was dramatic — tasks that once took about 20 minutes were reduced to under 20 seconds, prepress capacity grew roughly 300% every three years, and continuous, high-speed production was maintained even under heavy loads. Allied continues to rely on DALIM SOFTWARE’s scalable, high-performance solution for complex, time-sensitive jobs and plans to integrate DALIM ES for customer-facing processes while keeping TWIST for heavy lifting.
