Case Study: Pearson achieves automated Scuolabook-ready e-book production and significant time savings with DALIM SOFTWARE

Hyphen-Italia and DALIM SOFTWARE experience servicing the Italian educational publishing

Pearson faced a national Italian mandate requiring school textbooks to be available online, driving publishers to join the Scuolabook digital platform and rapidly convert print workflows to downloadable e‑books. To meet this challenge Pearson Italia used an integrated solution involving Hyphen‑Italia’s Chalco MBM for book and asset management together with DALIM SOFTWARE’s DALIM TWIST engine to handle e‑book production, metadata management and print‑ready file generation.

DALIM SOFTWARE’s DALIM TWIST, tightly integrated with MBM, automated the creation of Scuolabook‑ready PDFs (preset 150 dpi, single‑page RGB, embedded fonts and required metadata), normalised print outputs, and supported preview and approval flows, reducing manual work. The MBM–TWIST flow delivered “significant savings in terms of time” and optimized resources for Pearson, allowing editorial teams to focus on content rather than special production workflows.
