Hornbach, the European DIY retailer with more than 130 stores, faced a major prepress challenge: millions of brochures, flyers and direct mailers each year required reliable print data management, tight quality control and the flexibility to make last‑minute changes. Outsourcing proved costly and slow, so Hornbach’s Marketing/PrePressDigital team looked for an in‑house automation solution and turned to DALIM SOFTWARE (notably deploying TWIST, alongside MISTRAL, DVL and DIALOGUE) to handle rising volumes and complex workflows.

DALIM SOFTWARE implemented an automated TWIST workflow that links existing systems, integrates with GMG color management, centralizes inputs via a single interface and exposes job status through MISTRAL while using the DVL for archives. The result: much higher efficiency and quality, the ability to make last‑minute edits, and scale — today over 170,000 PDFs run through the workflow (680,000 when including internet/archives/special purposes) — enabling Hornbach to keep prepress in‑house, shorten lead times and handle vastly increased print volumes.
