HEARST Fujingaho fashions its print and online PDF files using DALIM SOFTWARE tools

Hearst Fujingaho, a Tokyo-based fashion and lifestyle publisher of 11 magazines and more than 17 million monthly page views, faced time-consuming, error-prone pagination and file-naming tasks when producing PDF/X-1a files from InDesign. To eliminate repetitive manual operations and bring production in-house, Hearst Fujingaho selected DALIM SOFTWARE and its TWIST, PRINTEMPO and DIALOGUE products.

DALIM SOFTWARE implemented an integrated workflow: TWIST preflights and manages PDFs, PRINTEMPO provides a visual flatplan that automatically updates filenames and page numbers, and DIALOGUE enables detailed soft-proofing. The result: Hearst Fujingaho migrated production in-house in 2009, removed manual renaming and pagination errors, automatically strips registration marks for web use, and can produce a PDF-based digital magazine from PRINTEMPO in as little as five minutes—boosting productivity and reducing outsourcing.
