Black Dot Group, a Chicago-based premedia provider, needed a more robust, streamlined soft-proofing and project-management workflow because its Acrobat-based system didn’t deliver the user experience it wanted. After evaluating options at Graph Expo 2009, Black Dot Group selected DALIM SOFTWARE’s ES approval/soft-proofing system to provide a powerful, browser-based solution that would let customers track proofs without heavy IT involvement.

With implementation help from IO Integration, DALIM SOFTWARE’s ES was deployed as an integral part of Black Dot Group’s creative process, used from concept through file delivery and accessed by customers via simple email links. ES sped approvals, reduced repetitive tasks, broadened reviewer participation and cut training/infrastructure needs—most notably contributing to a 64% reduction in page corrections on an 800‑page catalog—while improving turnaround on tight schedules.
