The Weather Channel - Customer Case Study

The Weather Channel needed a way to manage a flood of fast-changing weather video, metadata, and live production demands across TV and multiplatform services, especially during weather emergencies when broadcasts can extend around the clock. The network turned to Dalet News Suite, using Dalet’s MAM, video production, and playout tools to support its end-to-end news and weather workflow.

Dalet implemented an integrated platform that streamlined ingest, metadata management, editing, rundown creation, live playout, archive access, and multiplatform distribution. The Weather Channel reported faster production by replacing some Final Cut Pro prep work with Dalet Media Cutter, while Dalet Xtend enabled seamless exchange of clips and metadata with Final Cut Pro for more advanced editing. Overall, Dalet unified operations across 60 client desktops, 10 WebSpace interfaces, and multiple connected systems, improving productivity and making archived content more accessible and usable.
