NASA - Customer Case Study

The customer, NASA, was managing a massive volume of video footage recorded from space station cameras and events at the Johnson Space Center. The challenge was to efficiently store, index, and retrieve this content for production and broadcast, requiring a system that could handle secure, metadata-rich archives. This led them to expand their existing installation with vendor Dalet, specifically adding the Dalet Brio video server and Dalet Xtend for Adobe Premiere Pro integration.

The solution implemented by Dalet involved integrating the NASA media database with the Dalet Media Asset Management system via its API. This allowed for the indexing and tracking of metadata, making specific content easily searchable. The new Dalet tools enabled non-production staff to browse archives and facilitated efficient content editing and program distribution with full metadata continuity. The results were a more efficient workflow for producing daily NASA TV programs and live broadcasts, all while maintaining the integrity and security of the content.
