A Dalet Flex Case Study
Australian Rules Football faced the urgent challenge of preserving, organising and monetising more than a century of game footage — from 35mm film and 22,000 magnetic videotapes to growing digital files — while analogue degradation, manual retrieval and rapidly expanding storage needs put both history and business at risk. To modernise its archive and distribution workflows the League selected Dalet Flex (deployed with Telstra and AWS) as the media workflow and archive management solution.
Dalet Flex was used to digitise archives, upload roughly 500 TB to AWS S3 and migrate the collection into a petabyte-scale cloud repository, providing a single source of truth with integrations to EVS, Avid, Adobe and Isilon. The Dalet Flex deployment centralised asset tracking, compliance, search and packaging, eliminated manual retrieval, enabled rapid clip delivery for broadcasters, advertisers and fans, and unlocked new commercial and engagement opportunities while powering ongoing production workflows (each match is ~120 GB, nine matches/week) from the restored archive.
