Vertellus Uses ProActivity to Drive Compliance

Vertellus, formed by a 2006 merger of two manufacturing firms, supplies specialty chemicals to the agriculture and pharmaceutical sectors. The merger left overlapping cultures and processes that caused inefficiencies in prioritization and tracking, and the company needed to strengthen EHS accountability quickly.

After a vendor search, Vertellus implemented Dakota Software’s ProActivity for its multi-level tracking and reporting, and Dakota configured the system for Responsible Care regulatory management and incident investigations. An initial audit in late 2009 showed 76% compliance; by August 2011 the Corporate Safety Council reported compliance at 99.6%.

Vertellus
