McWane on Track for Industry Leadership in Environmental Performance

McWane, Inc., a steel pipe manufacturer with $515 million in revenue and about 4,900 employees, set out to become an industry leader in environmental performance but faced a decentralized EHS model. As divisions handled their own compliance, the company lacked a consistent, company-wide way to track audit findings and corrective actions, creating risk that issues wouldn’t be closed and making it hard to demonstrate improvements to regulators.

McWane implemented Dakota Software’s web-based Auditor and Tracer SaaS tools to standardize audits, import data, and track corrective actions in real time across all sites. The system delivered visibility up and down the organization, drove monthly tracking of on-time closures (now in the high 90s, with many sites at 100%), restored regulator confidence, and put the company on course for its 100% compliance goal.
