University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Trust gets ahead of the game

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, one of the largest NHS Trusts in England, required an innovative solution for its Positive Patient ID initiative. The trust, which handles over 220,000 patient admissions annually, sought to improve its patient identification system. Dakota Integrated Solutions provided the solution by offering their expertise and the Zebra HC100 wristband printer.

Dakota Integrated Solutions implemented a large-scale deployment of 140 Zebra HC100 printers, the largest single roll-out of this model in Europe at the time. The solution included formatting the wristbands to comply with NPSA guidelines, integrating with the hospital's iSOFT PAS system, and implementing 2D DataMatrix barcodes. This innovative approach received high praise from the trust's project manager, who commended Dakota for their know-how, industry expertise, and creativity in helping the project succeed.
