A Dakota Integrated Solutions Case Study

Preview of the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust Case Study

Patient Wellbeing is Top of the List for Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Dakota

Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, a major NHS trust, originally sought a technology solution to assist with clinical bedside observations. Partnering with vendor Dakota Integrated Solutions, the Trust purchased Zebra TC51-HC Touch Computers. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, however, created a new, immediate challenge: enabling isolated patients to communicate with their loved ones to support their mental wellbeing and recovery.

Dakota Integrated Solutions provided the Zebra TC51-HC devices, which were initially repurposed to facilitate virtual visiting for patients. After the pandemic, the devices were integrated with Nervecentre EPR software and the Trust's Cerner EMR system to fulfill their original purpose. The solution provided real-time visibility of patient data, which improved patient safety, accelerated response to patient deterioration, and streamlined staff communication. The Trust found the devices transformed workflows, improved care, and opened new possibilities for using technology to enhance their services.
