KMF Group, a UK-based precision sheet metal manufacturer, faced challenges with its paper-based production system and required an automated, real-time solution for tracking work in progress. They engaged Dakota Integrated Solutions to design and implement a manufacturing business information system to capture shop floor data, enhance production processes, and generate instant management reports.

Dakota implemented a solution using the MCL Technologies platform to develop a data collection application that runs on Motorola MT2090 mobile computers. The system successfully integrated with KMF's new Epicor 9 ERP system, providing a smart production report that visually tracks job progress. The solution eliminated paper, provided real-time data, and included training for KMF personnel, allowing for future in-house development and upgrades.
