A Daisy Group Case Study
Lambeth College, a large further education provider in South East London with around 20,000 students and 800 staff across four sites, was experiencing poor data network performance that was affecting internet access and business applications. As an existing customer of Daisy Corporate Services, the college asked Daisy to manage a migration from a legacy 3Com environment to a resilient Cisco-based data solution and to address WAN/LAN shortcomings.
Daisy Corporate Services upgraded the core network (recommending 100MBs data links), refreshed the LAN infrastructure, consolidated inter-site data connections, migrated the Mitel MD110 to the Mitel MX-ONE for IP functionality and deployed VoIP remote extensions to provide resilience at the Adare Centre. The work—carried out with minimal disruption—delivered an immediate improvement in internet and application performance, stronger inter-site connectivity, faster business applications, easier day-to-day management for the college IT team, and ongoing network maintenance provided by Daisy.
