A Daisy Group Case Study
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), a UK government department of around 1,800 staff, needed to reduce costs, improve internal and external communications, support more flexible mobile working, cut its carbon footprint and provide a fully secure Public Enquiry Service. DCLG engaged Daisy Corporate Services (Daisy) to deliver a secure, scalable unified communications solution, including a hosted Mitel IP telephony platform, MPLS WAN connectivity and a Daisy-managed Public Enquiry Service.
Daisy implemented a Tier One hosted offsite dual‑resilient Mitel IP telephony platform, QoS‑enabled LAN, Cisco MPLS WAN, DDI ranges (20,000 numbers), new 0303 incoming numbers and a Daisy‑managed PES with custom CRM, achieving CESG Restricted‑level security and SLA‑based managed services. Deployed in four months (roll‑out at 250 users/night), the Daisy solution gave DCLG robust mobile working and business continuity, with 2,800 users on the system four months after launch and measurable cost and efficiency improvements.
