Costain, one of the UK’s leading engineering and construction companies with around 3,000 users, faced an aging PC estate, rising service-desk demand and a pending desktop/office refresh. To improve support across multiple offices and construction sites while cutting capital and operational costs, Costain engaged Daisy to deliver a fully managed IT service including first-line support, a dedicated service desk, hardware refresh and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager for asset tracking.
Daisy implemented a dedicated service desk (supported by onsite engineers), a full IT asset refresh with leased hardware and lifecycle/asset management, and SCCM-based visibility of devices. The solution improved response and first-time-fix rates, cut service-desk calls by about 20%, reduced capital expenditure via a cost-per-seat model, lowered operational overheads, enabled project cross-charging and freed Costain’s IT team to focus on strategic initiatives.
