A Daisy Group Case Study
Ashwell Medical Centre, a single-site GP practice in Manningham serving almost 8,000 patients with 25 staff, was struggling with patient access because its ageing telephone system left callers facing engaged tones at peak times and its internet connection could not reliably support secure transfer of clinical data. Daisy proposed a hosted telephony and connectivity upgrade — including SIP trunks, a SIP-enabled Avaya phone system and a fibre broadband upgrade — to address these problems.
Daisy installed six SIP trunks and SIP-enabled Avaya handsets (with call routing, reporting and a disaster‑recovery fallback), switched the practice’s 0844 number to a local code and upgraded to unlimited fibre broadband. The changes delivered measurable benefits: improved patient access and satisfaction, quicker and more reliable transfer of patient documentation, reduced call costs for patients, and better staff efficiency through call‑reporting insights that allow reception staffing to be matched to peak demand — improvements Daisy says have effectively paid for the new solution.
