A Daffodil Software Case Study
V2 Retail, a major Indian value fashion chain with over 300 stores, faced the challenge of establishing an online presence without a central warehouse. Their distributed inventory across stores was invisible to online shoppers, and they lacked the fulfilment infrastructure to process digital orders. They enlisted Daffodil Software for eCommerce development services to build a solution that could leverage their existing store network.
Daffodil engineered a distributed commerce infrastructure featuring a high-performance e-commerce storefront and a bespoke Order Management System (OMS). The solution included a store-led fulfilment model with three methods, a lag-tolerant inventory sync engine integrated with their existing SAP system, and a dedicated Android app for store staff. This enabled V2 Retail to use all 300+ stores as fulfilment nodes, achieving a 2-second storefront load time and reducing dispatch errors to near zero, transforming their physical network into a scalable omnichannel advantage.
