A Daffodil Software Case Study
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the country's central bank, faced a challenge in making its newly introduced currency notes accessible to visually and hearing-impaired citizens, as the tactile markers on the notes deteriorated with use. To tackle this, RBI partnered with Daffodil Software to develop an AI-enabled mobile application for currency identification.
Daffodil Software developed a mobile app using AI development services and computer vision. The solution utilized a custom-trained AI model for high-accuracy, offline recognition of currency notes and incorporated voice guidance in 11 languages along with unique vibration patterns for each denomination. The resulting app achieved 99.9% accuracy, was downloaded over 1 million times, and significantly improved financial accessibility and independence for users across India.
