TV Worldwide broadcasts to more than 100k viewers with VE Day Event

TV Worldwide, a veteran-owned Internet TV producer (maker of USVets.TV), faced an unprecedented challenge when streaming the 2015 VE Day Memorial flyover: uncertain peak viewership for a multi-hour webcast, the need to combine audio from several sources, and reliable access for mobile users. To meet these demands they relied on DaCast’s Streaming-as-a-Service platform and support.

DaCast provided a robust streaming backbone and constant event support, delivering seamless mobile coverage and handling rapid viewer growth. The broadcast peaked at 117,000 concurrent viewers (about 1 Mb/s each) with no technical problems—more than double TV Worldwide’s expectations—and left the customer confident in DaCast’s ability to support similarly large events.
