How Grupo PetraGold is Bringing the Arts to Life with Online Video
Teatro PetraGold, the cultural arm of Grupo PetraGold in Rio de Janeiro, faced COVID-19 shutdowns that canceled live performances and found Zoom unsuitable for secure, ticketed events. Needing a platform to sell access and reliably broadcast professionally produced shows, they built a ticketing portal, invested in cameras and encoders, and evaluated vendors before selecting Dacast.
Teatro PetraGold implemented Dacast’s live-streaming platform and used Dacast’s API to customize a paywalled streaming experience, benefiting from the vendor’s technical support, scalability, and affordability. After becoming Dacast customers in November 2020, they ran private tests and hosted their first larger online event in March 2021, validating the solution and positioning them to launch publicly across Brazil and expand to other theaters and universities.
