The challenge was to build a flexible application that could accommodate frequently changing event information, such as sculpture locations and sponsor content, close to launch. The app needed to provide a simple and accessible experience for a broad family audience to help them navigate the trail and log their progress.

The solution implemented by DabApps was a lightweight companion app focused on four key actions: discovering sculptures, finding them on a map, logging visits, and tracking progress. They used a staged delivery plan that allowed core development to proceed with placeholder content, ensuring the project stayed on schedule even as final details were confirmed. The resulting app for iOS and Android successfully helped visitors explore over 30 BookBench sculptures across Brighton & Hove, unlocking rewards and supporting the charity's cause without distraction from the physical event.
