Managing Deliveries to the Vulnerable During COVID-19 With D4H

Morecambe Bay Food Bank was tasked by the Lancaster City Council to provide food parcels for the vulnerable and isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant challenge given the area's population of over 114,000 people. The organization needed a system to manage its deliveries, vehicles, volunteers, and operations. They deployed the full suite of readiness and response software products from D4H to address this challenge.

The D4H solution provided a customizable system that allowed the food bank to track incoming requests, plan deliveries, and schedule activities. By leveraging D4H's software, the organization, with its fleet of nine vehicles capable of delivering 80 parcels each, gained the ability to accurately report on its operations and stay on top of the demanding response effort. The implementation of D4H enabled the food bank to effectively manage every aspect of its critical humanitarian mission.
