D4H Making Multi-Agency Collaboration Easy During an Emergency

The Waldo County Emergency Management Agency faced the challenge of coordinating multi-agency emergency response across 26 independent towns. Their need for a central, real-time operating picture was critical for effective collaboration during natural and man-made disasters, but they relied on outdated methods like phone calls and faxes. To overcome this, they turned to the vendor D4H and its Incident Management service.

The solution from D4H provided a cloud-based platform for creating a common operating picture. It enabled all towns and partner agencies, including utility companies, to log into a virtual Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for real-time updates. Staff could create custom status boards on the fly to track everything from road closures to PPE supplies during COVID-19. The implementation by D4H dramatically improved coordination and communication, replacing inefficient processes and ensuring all responders remained on the same page.
