D4H Incident Management Plays Key Role in Hurricane Dorian Response

Horry County Fire Rescue, a high-volume fire and EMS agency, was struggling with inefficient disaster response planning. They were using a manual system of MS Word and PDF documents to create Incident Action Plans and a physical whiteboard to track resources, a process they found time-consuming and tedious during large-scale events like hurricanes.

The agency implemented D4H Incident Management software to digitize their response efforts. D4H enabled real-time, collaborative form completion and automatic syncing of information into a common operating picture for all responders. This solution provided easier communication and simplified documentation, allowing Horry County to successfully manage the EMS deployment for a major bike week event and their entire response to Hurricane Dorian. The cloud-based system significantly reduced the time spent on reporting and collating information during and after incidents.
