The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning needed a scalable way to deliver its educator micro-credentials after its in-house LMS became difficult to maintain and expand. The center wanted a more accessible, engaging platform for busy educators while keeping course delivery flexible and aligned with its mission to improve student outcomes across Florida, and it chose D2L Brightspace.

With D2L Brightspace, the Lastinger Center migrated and redesigned more than 160 online courses, integrated tools like H5P, Bongo, and AI-powered assignment scoring, and built data-driven reporting through the Data Hub. The results included over 110,000 learner accounts, more than 50,000 learners served annually, a 100%+ increase in early learning educator enrollments, an NPS of 79, and a 33% reduction in assessment scoring costs.
