Training Canada’s Coaches to Win

The Canadian Sport Institute (CSI) provides world-class Olympic and Paralympic training and coach education across Alberta and beyond, including the Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD). CSI faced the challenge of delivering a competency-based, technology-enabled program that fits around coaches’ demanding schedules, supports remote and asynchronous assessment (including video evidence), simplifies course management, and protects highly sensitive athlete and coaching data.

CSI partnered with D2L to deploy an integrated learning platform—ePortfolio, its mobile app, webinar tools and YouSeeU streaming—hosted in Canadian data centers. The solution cut travel costs, widened access so coaches can complete the ACD more quickly from anywhere, reduced attrition, simplified collaboration with partner institutions, improved content security, and was rolled out rapidly with strong user adoption.
