A D2L Brightspace Case Study
The Robb Nash Project, a charitable organization focused on youth mental health, needed a way to turn its live school presentations into a safe online learning experience during the COVID-19 crisis. Working with D2L Brightspace, it wanted to create a bilingual, engaging course that could help students reflect on depression, anxiety, self-harm, bullying, and other difficult topics, despite having little prior experience building an online platform.
D2L Brightspace helped The Robb Nash Project launch “A Living Curriculum: Stories of Life Through Darkness,” a four-module course with seamless video, journaling, and a dual-language interface. The result was strong engagement: 20% of learners reached out for mental health support, and 60% of those were previously unknown to school mental health professionals, showing the course helped students feel more comfortable seeking help.
