TAFE Queensland - Customer Case Study

TAFE Queensland, one of Australia’s largest vocational training providers headquartered in Brisbane, was appointed Official Training Partner for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and faced the task of turning 15,000 successful applicants into skilled volunteers across more than 200 roles and 24 venues. The organization needed a massively scalable, mobile-accessible training solution so volunteers could learn flexibly and be ready to welcome spectators and support event operations.

TAFE Queensland delivered a blended, fully digital program using D2L’s Brightspace platform and Daylight interface, creating role-specific modules, videos and resources that could be accessed on any device and branded to the Games. The program achieved an 80% completion rate, 94.1% employer satisfaction and 88.1% volunteer satisfaction, saved over 1.8 million sheets of paper, earned industry recognition and helped volunteers become the well-regarded “face of the Games.”
