Sinclair Community College - Customer Case Study

Sinclair Community College wanted to move toward competency-based education (CBE) but needed a new learning management system when its old LMS was no longer going to be supported. Using D2L Brightspace and its Brightspace Learning Environment, Sinclair sought a platform that could support its growing online programs and help students learn at their own pace.

D2L Brightspace implemented tools such as the Learning Object Repository and Release Conditions to support Sinclair’s CBE curriculum and adaptive course flow. In the first three years, CBE students completed their first program in an average of two terms, compared with four terms for non-CBE students, and graduates finished 35% faster; graduation rates for CBE students were also double those of non-CBE students.
