A D2L Brightspace Case Study
Oral Roberts University wanted to expand access to whole-person education while making it easier for students and faculty to use new digital tools. Working with D2L Brightspace, the university needed a way to integrate innovations like virtual reality, telepresence robots, AI, and health data into its learning environment without adding extra burden on faculty.
D2L Brightspace helped ORU build a seamless digital learning foundation that connected its LMS with FitBit, the SIS, and other campus systems, while supporting self-service access to course materials and immersive learning experiences. The results included saving about 900 hours of faculty manual labor per semester plus another 400 hours from grade integration, increasing student retention from 63% to 95% in measured areas, and raising work-placement rates from 84% to 99.4%.
