A D2L Brightspace Case Study
Putnam Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services (PNW BOCES), a K–12 service organization supporting 1,090 educators in New York State, needed to rapidly convert its professional development offerings to remote delivery when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. The challenge was to provide scalable, respectful professional learning that let teachers engage meaningfully rather than just consume content.
PNW BOCES implemented D2L Brightspace (Brightspace Core with Quizzes, Release Conditions and Intelligent Agents) to create a streamlined, flipped-classroom experience. The platform accelerated the shift to remote learning, enabled one administrator to manage roughly 700 teachers across 30+ cohorts, and let educators spend workshop time applying skills—improving engagement and productivity in professional learning.
