Case Study: Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education (TCASE) achieves a rapid, accessible virtual conference rollout with D2L Brightspace

A D2L Brightspace Case Study

Preview of the TCASE Case Study

Providing peer support in a virtual world

The Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education (TCASE), a 1,200‑member association that relies on biannual conferences for professional development and peer support, faced a sudden problem when COVID‑19 made in‑person events impossible. With members needing urgent guidance on complex special‑education challenges and only weeks to adapt, TCASE had to find a simple, familiar virtual solution that could be deployed quickly for a first‑time online conference.

TCASE partnered with enSYNC and selected Zoom for live video and D2L’s Brightspace as the central hub, implementing the platform in just eight weeks. The three‑day virtual event attracted more than 650 attendees (exceeding a 600‑person target), improved accessibility for teams who previously couldn’t attend in person, delivered higher‑value sponsor interactions via breakout rooms, and convinced TCASE to retain a virtual component for future events.
