Unigranrio, a Brazilian university with 10 units in Rio de Janeiro offering 40+ undergraduate and graduate programs, sought to scale high‑quality, career‑focused education beyond the classroom. Partnering with D2L to implement Brightspace delivered interactive tools, personalized learning paths and an ePortfolio that supported practical, work‑based learning. The platform was adopted by around 30,000 students and faculty with strong approval, improved student engagement and job‑market readiness, and set the university’s sights on expanding to 70,000 users and new course areas by 2018.
