Northeastern Technical College (NETC) needed a better way to support underserved and first-generation students, many of whom were learning remotely and lacked help navigating college at home. To strengthen online learning, engagement, and student support, NETC turned to D2L Brightspace, its next-gen learning management system.
Using D2L Brightspace’s data and analytics, virtual office features, and support for open educational resources, NETC improved faculty outreach, student mentoring, and course accessibility. The results included a 4.4% enrollment increase during the pandemic, a 5.2% rise in student persistence, and a 77% reduction in textbook costs, with nearly half a million logins to D2L Brightspace supporting its online learning strategy.
