A D2L Brightspace Case Study
MGH Institute of Health Professions, a graduate health sciences school in Boston, needed a more flexible learning management system to replace its home-grown LMS and support rapid growth, online learning, and interprofessional education. It chose D2L Brightspace to help faculty and students work in a user-friendly environment that could handle course delivery, collaboration, and competency-based learning.
D2L Brightspace was implemented across programs for course materials, discussions, testing, grading, syllabi storage, ePortfolios, and analytics, with support for online and flipped classrooms. The impact was significant: the institute grew from about 900 to more than 1,600 students, moved all courses online during 10 snow days in 2015, and expanded new online programs and revenue streams while maintaining anywhere, anytime learning.
