Modern States Education Alliance, a nonprofit focused on making higher education more accessible and affordable, needed a way to scale its free online courses for CLEP exam prep as demand grew. The organization was also looking to improve learner registration, gain better insight into student progress, and reduce manual processes across its expanding program.

D2L Brightspace helped Modern States migrate 32 courses to the platform, enhance analytics, and automate key workflows. The results included more than 80,000 learner accounts created in the first seven months, a start-to-finish view of learner progress, and an automated voucher system expected to fulfill over 95% of requests in minutes instead of days.
