A D2L Brightspace Case Study
Longwood Gardens, a horticultural destination focused on education, faced a major challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic when in-person visits dropped and it needed new ways to reach learners. Working with D2L Brightspace, the organization shifted to at-home and hybrid online learning to keep inspiring curiosity about plants and help grow the next generation of horticulturists.
D2L Brightspace helped Longwood Gardens quickly expand open online courses and adapt popular offerings like floral design into fully virtual experiences, even shipping materials to participants. With support from D2L’s Learning & Creative Services team, Longwood also built a learner-feedback dashboard to improve courses over time. The results included significantly increased enrollment, broader reach across the U.S. and beyond, and strong learner satisfaction, with 100% of floral design participants reporting greater joy and confidence.
