International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) needed a better way to deliver its certification training and exams because in-person sessions were hard for learners to attend, travel costs were high, and the manual process could take weeks. Working with D2L Brightspace and enSYNC, IMSA set out to move its professional development and certification programs online.

D2L Brightspace helped IMSA launch an integrated online learning platform with online proctoring and association-system integration, while also tailoring workflows to IMSA’s rules. The result was a faster, more scalable, and increasingly paperless certification process that lets learners study and test from anywhere, expands instructor reach, and reduces administrative burden; one online class could support 60 participants, and 90% of sections were already planning to use the platform.
