Case Study: CMTBC achieves agile online quality assurance with D2L Brightspace

Innovating to maintain professional practice standards

The College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC), the regulator for registered massage therapists in B.C., needed a better way to meet its entry-to-practice and ongoing quality assurance mandates while keeping practitioners current on changing standards. It turned to D2L Brightspace, along with D2L Managed Services and creative support, to deliver online learning for exams and professional practice education.

D2L Brightspace helped CMTBC launch interactive courses on law, ethics, professionalism, boundaries, and consent, enabling the small organization to respond quickly to new regulatory requirements. The result has been strong uptake and positive feedback from registrants, while CMTBC can now support a growing community of about 5,500 RMTs more efficiently and at scale.
